Summer euro-trip 2011 part IV.

August 31st

We spent all morning in the hotel and after the lunch we moved out. We’re driving east side of the Largo di Garda lake. It’s our today’s destination. There are many camping sites across the lake but we only care for those which facilitate lodging in bungalows. After stopped at couple of places but failed to find free bungalow or mobile house, we’re changing the minds and ending up at nearest Camping Lido in Lazise. It appears our handy tent will be sleeping us again. It’s already dark and we just came back from a short walk around the shore. But now, there is kid-disco evening going on! So, encouraged by a bottle of local vine, we’re entertaining ourselves and eventually a neighboring audience with the creepy dance performed around the tent.

September 1st

In the morning, the sun was covered by clouds and later on we even got a quick shower, but now at noon when clouds start disappearing and outside temperature’s rising by four degrees in ten minutes. We’re leaving the campground. By vineyards bordered roads, we’re driving to Verona where we want to stop by for a short walk. Parking at the Aldige river bank got easy, so we’re starting to take a walk around Castelvecchio, through Porta Borsari to the Arena and finally Torre Lamberti at Piazza della Erbe. Unfortunately, we missed Juliet’s house. I’m glad we could taste a bit of this romantic city, most famous as the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. We’re leaving Verona and driving toll free roads paved by petrol stations via Vicenza and Padova to Venezia. Tired out by three hours long exhausting rally, we’re finally reaching Alba D’oro camping village in Mestre, located off the coast near by Marco Polo airport.
