Summer euro-trip 2011 part III.

August 30th

I don’t want to get off the bed because I didn’t sleep well. Unlike Marta, I underestimated long lasting thermal capacity that can be supplied by multi-layered clothing shell so I’ve been waking up freezing throughout the night. After a breakfast, we’re heading to Passo Fedaia (2057m) around Lago di Fedaia tarn from where we plan to undertake today’s hike. We started hiking across ski-lift towards Pian dei Fiacconi (2626m). As we’re moving on to higher altitudes, a wind from above glacier starts blowing here and there. Finally, we’re reaching Pian dei Fiacconi. The trek continues through the snow field to the Marmolada (3342) – highest peak of Dolomiti. After having a short rest we’re taking cable car on the way back. We’ve arrived camping site early evening so we decided pack up and move away. After a long way round and short stopover in Trento – where we had a dinner then failed to lodge in some hostel, we’re ending up in San Leonardo hotel in Vigolo Baselga near by Trento.
