Summer euro-trip 2011 part II.

August 29th

It’s a beautiful morning and we’re taking a cable car to Dantercepies. Today’s goal is to climb up highest peak in the surroundings – Piz Boe (3152m). This hiking tour was also advised yesterday by the mountain guide. Reading the map signs, I’m getting a mention that our trail includes sections of via ferrate (trails with permanent steel cords) however, Marta isn’t paying much attention. Never mind. Today’s weather is really amazing, a bit hot even in high altitudes. We’re taking a pleasure by stunning views of mountain peaks while walking a mountain ridge. After a while, we’re climbing up a steep slope, partially covered by a shade. I forgot to mention that we’re carrying 1L of water and single pack of cookies on a day trip. We’re nearly reaching the top of the long slope and Marta suddenly spots via ferrate. Even a blind man could read off a bad sign out of her face. Surprisingly, first two we’re overcoming bravely. Nevertheless, when Marta spots more of it, she almost shits into her pants. “No way” she whispers, and here’s where our hiking tour reached its end. On the way back I’m getting tired rapidly, so finally it turned out that early returning wasn’t that bad idea at all. Marta has saved us! It’s a late afternoon, and we’re passing crooked roads via mountain passes Passo di Sella and Passo di Pardoi on the way to Camping Soal in Pera di Fassa where we mean to spend a night or two.
